Just like the complex geology of the UK, from John O’Groats to Lands’ End, sandstone is a wonderful and highly variable natural material. Whilst a great construction material, with a range of natural textures and hues, it can pose a challenge when cutting and shaping it for your project.
The grain will differ from sandstone to sandstone but the properties of the grains influence both the color and hardness of the rock and the tools to cut them may need to vary in strength too. There can also be regional differences to be aware of, so selecting the right blade for the right stone is critical to both doing the job well as well as efficiently.
